First, y'all...thank you SO much for all of the birthday wishes! You really made my days, since I got so many wishes all week. At first I thought it would be sort of lame to tell y'all it was my birthday, but then I figured what the hell. And shit, if I didn't do it, who would, right? I can't deny that I am a bit of an attention whore when it comes to this ol' blog thing, anyways. But really, thank you so much. It's so cool to know there are such awesome, thoughtful peeps out there in the Internets. A big, fat hug and kiss to all of you...
Second, my stash was a bit shy this weekend (or was it that I was just thrilled with the beautiful weather this weekend). It sort of found out it was going to be revealed this weekend and stuffed itself further into the "Harry Potter Closet" under the stairs behind a new plastic bin of heavy ass CDs and other shit. I liken the stash to a cat that is trying really hard not to be discovered in the back of the closet. You know? Behind the pile of clothes that you just threw in the corner when you realized that your ass was too big for them. Or is that just my household? Anywho, I cannot promise that the stash will be revealed as I am sort of lazy about digging it out and even lazier about putting it back. Sorry to disappoint though...
Finally, I have a finished Sockapaloooza sock done! Well, almost...I need to block it and seam the picot cuff, but for me, that's done.
I am making the Lovely Lace socks from the Spring 2006 Interweave Knits magazine. This is a great pattern and I highly recommend it. It's very easy to commit to memory. I am using the amazing hand-dyed yarn from Marie at Brooklyn Handspun. It is the Lovers colorway. Great vivid, saturated colors. And the texture is quite like Koigu. Good stuff...go snatch some up. And wanna know something sort of creepy? Sandra's knitting the same socks in the same colorway for her Sockpal. Great minds, I suppose...
But, I must make an apology to my sock pal for this...
Frisco the Hairless loves him some cute socks in great yarn...

Very nice socks! Send you an email about the picot edge. This pattern seems to be very popular - for good reason! I'm really enjoying it. Wouldn't it be funny if you were my pal and I was your pal? ;-)

Ooh girl - nice sock! I still haven't returned to socks after the first _one_, but I've been thinking about going in for round two. Are you using DPN's? I want to try magic loop sometime.
You've got to love Frisco - he is so sweet! I love his various wrinkles.

Your sockapalooza person is a lucky gal...those socks are gorgeous and I love the colorway.
Glad you had a nice birthday.
Being an attention whore is a gift.

I love the image of frisco's hairless behind trying to hide behind something, haha.
The socks look great! I didn't have the will to flash my stash either.
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!
