Here's to the start and finish of my holiday knitting for 2006!
Pattern: Fetching from Knitty Summer
Yarn: the called for Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran in a yummy jewel-toned turquoise from a LYS near my HotelChain and I eeked them out of one ball, which leaves another ball for me!
Recipient: Mr Wonderful's Sis, for Chanukah (she loved them)
Notes: No modifications, except that they were knit in two circulars (God bless the creator/inventor/miracle worker/amazing knitter who came up with this technique). Super easy and super fun. My only complaint with the ease of this item is the thumb part. After carefully unraveling the waste yarn, it was a bitch trying to get the stitches on the needles, just right. Even so, I had to do some creative darning to hide some little holes that had formed, just like she did. Still, they were very "instant gratification" and that makes for happy holiday knitting.
I haven't cast on for anything else, just yet, although I will be starting Glampyre's Camellia for myself and Le Slouch to make up for my cousin's too-small-beret incident soon. In the meantime, I going to start a little food blog called The Wannabe Foodie. I haven't posted yet, but I will soon. Nothing fancy, just some recipes I've tried and some pictures. Perhaps a little commentary on my experiences with food and my ever growing love for cooking and baking. So check it out in January!
Finally, how about a knitty list?
Knitty Goals for 2007:
- Colorwork. Thanks to Stranded, this won't be a problem. I've even got the pattern.
- Another true sweater. Not a shrug but a sweater. Either this one or this one.
- Baby stuffs. SIL is preggers and so is my cousin. Both due in late April, early May.
- Destash/Stash Bust and only restash with an exact project in mind, when necessary. No more mindless yarn shopping until further notice. God help me.
Thanks for stopping by. I know I haven't been a good blogger for the past 6 months or so, but I will be back in regular action. I've missed documenting my knitting journey and sharing it all with you. Expect to see more of me, with a little more spirit behind it, soon!
Happy Christmakwanzaakah to you all!

Hey thanks for the comment. It totally made my day to know that someone else got my vibe!!

How's this for craziness? I just bought the pattern and yarn for Camellia, just finished Le Slouch, and I have yarn stashed away to make the Central Park Hoodie from KnitScene.

No calls yet from the infamous AA guy. That story has had everyone in stitches. Got to say that I definitely attract "quality" men. Oh well, hopefully the doctor looking for some coffee for his next shift will be the next guy to walk into Viento y Agua and hit on me. We call always hope anyway.

Oh so nice to have you back in the blog-o-sphere. I am sorry to hear about the beret, you were right, it did look small at the meeting.
I soooo want to make the hot chocolate jars! They are too cute. See you soon... Sandra.

Very Fetching, indeed! I'm 3/4 done with my second one of the pair, but can't seem to snatch the time to myself to finish them. I had a similar problem with a hole in the thumb join, but I wasn't as diligent as you in fixing it!
Excellent goals for 2007, m'dear. Very much in line with mine, which I havent' fully defined yet. You know what they say about great minds...!

Very fetching. I love the color. I have very similar goals as yours, mainly no mindless buying. I will only buy for a project that I am ready to start.Yea, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Nice job on the gloves, me likey. Damn that Thumb...Damn Yooouuu! Don't know why that thumb was so hard but I am very happy to know that it wasn't just me, even if that means others must suffer :O)
For 2007 I think I will do some colorwork too. I am really feeling the Eunny's Anemoi Mittens. Good Luck with the resolutions!
