Who Needs Louis?

Here's my cute lil' ole Buttonhole Bag!

Felted bags are the new Louis, right?  Um, I don't think so...but nonetheless, I get more compliments on my felted bags than I ever do on my LV.  Believe me, it's cute too.  But there is just something about a cute bag you made yourself.  I haven't worn this out...I am possibly reserving for The Designer Crab as a trade for one of these beauties.  I am thinking this is a good lil' Xmas bag for a few peeps on my list though.

We did this bag as part of our SnB KAL.  Everyone's bags came out so different (one day I will post a pic of us w/ them) and that's the beauty of this bag, I guess.  I felt like mine was a little boring compared to their bags, but mine came out the smallest and I love it still.

As for my next project, I am torn.  I cast on for Glampyre's Boobholder twice now, w/ 2 different types of yarn, and I can't get this pattern.  Maybe I am a moron...maybe I am not.  In the meantime, I am considering the Honeymoon Cami, since it's so adorable.  I also bought some Paton's Grace for the Branching Out scarf from Knitty.  A couple of projects at the same time ne'er hurt nobody, right?

Improper Pick Up Lines

See the weird thing my bag did on this side?  Hmmm, maybe it was operator error.  I must admit that picking up stitches is not my best skill or the one I am most patient with either.

Oh well, the bag is still super duper cute!  I am going to make a cute little flower or somethin' for it!

This Ole Bag...

Yup, that ol' bag is getting ready for a swim in the ol' washing machine.  I am almost done with my buttonhole bag.  It's a quick knit! 

I think I really love this yarn for my wool projects (meaning felted projects).  I don't think I could ever knit a garment out of *wool* wool, you know? Maybe something soft and yummy like baby alpaca or merino/silk blend, but not *wool* wool.  But Lamb's Pride would make a great Kitty Pi Bed for my sweet little Frisky Face.

New Project Alert: Buttonhole Bag

Ok, so now I have finished my Cable 8 and I am thinking, what the heck to I knit now?  You know that feeling...when you've done something BIG (well, at least to you it's big) and you sort of want a break, but don't want to "not knit?"

So, I am working on a Buttonhole Bag from Mason-Dixon Knitting.  It seems like the perfect 'in between projects' project.  I am using Brown Sheep's Lamb's Pride Bulky in Oregano and some oatmealy color (can't recall the name right at the moment).  I am thinking I might throw a couple of stripes in there.

In the meantime, I am contemplating my next 'big thang', if you will.  I was going to make a Clapotis, but just don't have the heart for it right now.  So, I am thinking about this cute bolero top on the cover of the Knit 1 magazine (I think it's the Spring edition) in a purply color of Homespun and/or Branching Out using that Knit Picks Shimmer I bought in Happy Dance.  It's variegated, so I am not sure if that'll be the best yarn.

Well, as soon as I make a little more progress on my bag, I will throw a few pics your way!  In the meantime, check out my pics and my Yoga Pose of the Week!  Yay for yoga!  Speaking of which, gotta head off right now...

Pretty in Cabled 8 Pink!

Yay, I finished it!  My first finished garment!  I SO ROCK!  Ok, ok...so it wasn't so difficult, but I did learn two new skills: cabling and crochet!  Yup, crochet!  Thanks to my LYS, I learned to single crochet today.  Geez, it's freaking easy!  And guess what, the seams are single crocheted together so no sewing!  I am so thinking that I might have to use this technique to seam other stuff.  Hell yeah!

The pattern can be found in the Interweave Knits Spring 2005.  I used Rowan All Seasons Cotton in Jaunty (doubled).  If you'd like to see it completed on someone else, go to Diana's Blog or Lesley's Blog.  Cute girls in cables, oh my!

Not so much knitting...

So, I haven't been doing so much knitting these last couple of days.  Mr Wonderful just finished up w/ Tax Season on Friday and we are taking a long weekend to spend some time and play "relationship catch-up."  As part of our fun, he got tickets to see the Dodgers on Saturday night, which you are probably saying "fun, how is a baseball game fun?" but it was great!  I've become a HUGE (figuratively and literally...see how round my face is)Dodger fan and really enjoy watching them.  I don't know squat about any other baseball team though.  It's just a Dodger love...

So here we are down below.  My mom took the pic (she and my dad came with).  We had great fun eating crappy, processed food and cheering and being obnoxious.  Woo hoo!

As for knitting, I am still working that Cable 8 sweater.  I am about 65% done now and pretty excited about that.  Cables rock and this sweater is easy peasy.  Just gotta figure out how I am going to crochet it together when I can't crochet (yet)!  I will post knitting-related pics soon!

Yeah, yeah...I moved!

Ok, so I moved!  What?  I was just realizing that I don't really care for my previous blog site so much.  So now I am here...

As far as knitting is concerned, I am working on the second piece of that Cable 8 sweater and it's coming along nicely.  I really wish I would have been smart enough to do both pieces at the same time.  Now I am a little bored that I have to do the same darned pattern all over again.  Good thing that it knit up quickly...I will post new pictures soon. 

As for Grace, or the lack of, I plan on finishing that this weekend.  I know, you've heard that a million times before, but I really mean it this time.  That is, unless I get super duper caught up in the Cable 8 progress.  Hmmm, don't look at me that way...I'll do it, I promise!  Besides, I am tired of being nagged about it by my moms!  Ha!
