I just flew in from France, and boy are my arms tired...
Ok, so I didn't just fly in from France and it's not really my arms, but my hands...I finally finished the not-so-secret, very, very late Mothers' Day Clap. I must say it was a long knit...sort of like a half marathon. Not the longest run of all, but it's still a killer for the novice runner and you definitely feel a huge sense of accomplishment once it's done. I must admit this was an incredibly fun knit and never once did I get bored. But it was a long journey and well-worth it. Mom was terribly thrilled to finally get her gift (did I mention I bought her a delicious yarn swift to go with...as sort of a make-up for the Clap being so late).
Here is Mom giving us the "full Monty" shot. I am glad you love it Mom!!!
I am on to other things now. I got an amazing sock yarn and pattern from Knit Pixie. I will post pictures of the sock progress as I start to make some actual progress. So far I've FROGGED it twice because I can't seem to follow directions any more. I just get so caught up knitting (actually, it would be because of my chronic diarrhea of the mouth and TV watching) that I keep following the pattern in my head as opposed to the pattern on the paper. Just ask the voices in my head...
Beautiful Clap! I never could picture how it would look done in a solid yarn, and it looks really nice. The dropped stitches really stand out!

Okay - you totally busted me! It completely slipped my mind about the engagement - sorry! We are *very* excitied and all giddy - it's so much fun to be engaged. I'm really enjoying starting sentences with "My fiance..."
Mme. Clap is gorgeous! Great job. It is _exactly_ like a half-marathon - good call. I'd better get running!
L,
